Guanajuato Bound!

June 22nd I’m going to spend three full days in the historic mining town of Guanajuato, a couple of hours north of Mexico City (map). The first time I saw a photo of the city I said to myself, “I have to get me some of that!” Take a look at a Google Images page and I think you will understand my attraction to the town. It looks like a color-saturated Italy. These are the kind of trips that people hate to accompany me on because I’m just running around following my camera wherever I point it. I’ll update this post as I wonder around there. I hope to come away with inspiration for at least 8 new paintings. Stay tuned…

Got in last night. It’s like Sevillia, only more hilly and with tunels criss crossing below. Plaza de la Plaz, GuanajuatoCan’t wait to see in the day. Will be taking a tour to orient myself.  Like anywhere in Mexico, church bells ring early to punnish sloth…
